FAQs

What is Glamping?

The word “glamping” is a shortened form of the combination of two words: glamorous and camping. It’s as simple as that. The term glamping refers to camping in any type of accommodation that allows for the fitting of beds, heaters, and other camping equipment that aren’t usually found in regular camping tents. In other words, glamping is just camping but with luxury, relaxation, and comfort in mind.

Is alcohol permitted?

Yes, alcohol is permitted at your campsite. You must be 21 years old to consume alcoholic beverages. Please act responsibly!

Please come prepared to pick up after your pet! A pet liability waiver must also be signed.

Is there a heater or air conditioning?

All of our hives have mini-splits, 2 fans and a heater but can still get a little humid during the mid-day on hot summer days. Remember, this isn’t a 5-star Hotel, it’s camping with some glitter sprinkled on top!

Will there be bugs or critters?

A resounding yes. In fact we have a “will see bugs” guarantee! It’s camping. The granddaddy long legs love the canopies in the front of the tent. Yes they have 8 legs and are in the spider family but they are as harmless as sweet little Charlotte from Charlottes web!

And as far as critters there are raccoons, squirrels, lizards, the occasional snake, resident dumpster kitties, geese, crane, deer, birds of all types just to name a few!

What is the minimum age to rent a dome?

The minimum age to rent a Hive is 21 years old. If you are under 25 years old we may ask for an additional security deposit.

Is this like a resort?

No. While we do provide some amenities here that most camping accommodations don’t have, we are not a resort. We do not refresh towels, have room service, or provide turn down/mid stay cleaning services.

What if it rains during my stay?

Our Hives are waterproof & able to withstand the rain and a great amount of wind. However, we greatly appreciate your help to zip up the entrance and windows to avoid rainwater from entering. No refunds will be given in any circumstances. In cases of extremely high winds and storms we recommend moving to a secure building location like the bathhouses, marina, restaurant, or your car until the storm is over. Remember this is still camping and even though the inside of the hive looks like a well-appointed hotel room, it is still a tent so you should proceed accordingly the same as you would do if you were tent camping in a storm!

What are the shared bathrooms like? How many people share them?

The shared bathrooms are in separate buildings and feature fully private, lockable rooms.  They are conveniently located right behind the hives in a central location. Two individual restrooms both with a flushing toilet and sink. The hot showers are located in the main bathhouse around the bend from the hives in the RV campground. Our guests are welcomed in those. Our shared restroom spaces are regularly maintained and sanitized.

Is the camp lit at night?

Yes we have timer opperated string lights all throughout the camp that come on at dusk and go off at dawn. We also have solar lights at the steps of each hive and around the bases of the string holds.

We also provide a flashlight in each hive for use if needed when going to the bathroom or your car at night!

Can I lock the tent?

The tents do not have locks. However, they do zip up with both an inner mesh netting, and an additional canvas exterior shell. We do suggest keeping all valuables such as cash, jewelry, cameras, passports, etc. with you or in a locked vehicle.

Are kids allowed?

YES! Untamed Honeys Hives are the perfect backdrop for your special event, business getaway or team building promotion. Contact us today to see how we can best work together!
